Scribarchy Is Live: Three Worlds, Ready to Play

It's official: Scribarchy is production ready, and three multiverses are live and waiting for players right now.

This has been a long time coming, and I'm genuinely excited to finally open the doors. Here's what's ready for you today.

The City of a Thousand Domes

Leave a city of golden domes and lantern-lit bazaars, chasing genies, thieves, and sultans across deserts and enchanted palaces toward a distant throne.

Inspired by Andrew Lang's Arabian Nights Entertainments, this multiverse weaves together nine classic tales (Sindbad's voyages, the Three Calenders, Aladdin, Camaralzaman, and more) into a single sprawling world you can explore as any character you like. Bargain with genies, survive cursed valleys, out-talk viziers, and work your way toward the ultimate prize: claiming the throne and becoming Caliph yourself.

A Princess of Mars

Adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' 1912 tale of Barsoom, this multiverse drops you onto a dying red planet of warring city-states, ancient canals, and four-armed green Martian hordes. Navigate shifting alliances, prove yourself in single combat, and work toward the one goal that matters most: saving Barsoom itself.

The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath

Adapted from H. P. Lovecraft's 1926 dreamland, this multiverse sends you past the walls of sleep and into a landscape governed by its own impossible logic: ghouls in the underworld, cat-armies in the moonlight, and a golden city calling from somewhere beyond it all. Not every choice here rewards boldness; sometimes the only wisdom is knowing when to wake up, but for those who press on, Kadath's sunset city is there to be found.

What Is Scribarchy?

Scribarchy is a persistent, multiplayer, collaborative interactive fiction. There's no parser: you pick from the choices in front of you, built from Places to explore, Things to find, and Choices that test who your character is. Every decision can send your story down a different road, and the world changes permanently based on what everyone does.

You can play a multiverse as-is, or propose short action ideas that a curator shapes into new choices with real stakes. There's no single "correct" path through any of these worlds; play as a swordsman, a storyteller, a thief, a claimant to a throne, a green Martian warrior, or a dreamer who's wandered too far past the walls of sleep. The story bends around who you choose to be.
